The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center is where you can discover what makes life on Louisiana’s Cajun prairies special through a new series of cuisine, culture, and music the first Friday of every month.

The local newspaper, Eunice Today, is a great means for finding out what’s shakin’ in town today. The Symphony Orchestra at the  Liberty Center of the Performing Arts is another major draw for those seniors who enjoy music.

Rain or Shine, Mardi Gras is BIG in Eunice. See for yourself and enjoy all the wonderful Cajun Cuisine as well as the hospitality of the locals. Senior visitors can enjoy “mudpuppies” (crawfish – crayfish – mudbugs) and try to get in on a “boil” or two where they may even toss in a few shrimp and crab.

When our son lived in Shreveport (LA), we had a great boil or two ourselves. Having been a teacher of French for over three decades, I have Eunice on my travel bucket-list. Put it on yours as well. -jeb
